About the role

As a desktop engineer, you will proactively maintain and support clients’ desktops, notebooks and tablets as well as associated IT infrastructure, delivering top quality service and support for end users.

You will enjoy reviewing customers’ on-going technology needs, making recommendations to continually improve their environment. You will also contribute to their technology roadmaps, partnering with them to achieve their business outcomes.

Customer facing with excellent communication skills, you will assist in the preparation of scoping / design / project implementation documents, and help develop client SLAs.

Continually seeking to grow professionally, you will be mentored by more senior members, learning new technical and business skills from them, whilst taking accountability for your own career development.

About you

  • 2 years+ demonstrated success in a service delivery or systems engineer capacity.​​​​​​​
  • IT technical experience (preferably in a relevant service provider or integrator) with solid knowledge of most of the following areas:
    • Understanding of Microsoft core desktop technologies.
    • Excellent desktop / laptop deployment and support experience.
    • Mobile computing technologies experience.
    • Basic networking (LAN/WAN) experience, with knowledge of switching and routing technologies.
    • Basic virtualisation and cloud computing experience.
    • Basic understanding of firewalling, security principles and technologies.
  • Completion of – or working towards completion of – a Microsoft Certification.
