Trusted Advisor – Desktop – Wellington

About the Role

As a Desktop engineer, you will proactively maintain and support clients Desktops, Notebooks, and tablets as well as associated IT infrastructure, delivering top quality service and support for the end users.

You will enjoy reviewing customers on-going technology needs making recommendations to continually improve their environment, also contributing to their technology roadmaps, partnering with them to achieve their business outcomes.

Customer facing with excellent communication skills, you will enjoy assisting in the preparation of required scoping, design and project implementation documents, and developing client SLAs as required.

Continually seeking to grow professionally, you will be mentored by more senior members, learning new technical and business skills from them, whilst taking accountability for your own career development.

About you

  • 2 years+ demonstrated success in a service delivery or systems engineer capacity.​​​​​​​
  • IT technical experience (preferably in a relevant service provider or integrator) with solid knowledge of most of the following areas:
    • Understanding of Microsoft core desktop technologies.
    • Excellent desktop and laptop deployment & support experience
    • Mobile computing technologies experience
    • Basic networking (LAN/WAN) experience, with knowledge of switching and routing technologies.
    • Basic virtualisation & cloud computing experience
    • Basic understanding of firewalling & security principles & technologies
  • Completion of, or, working towards completion of a Microsoft Certification.
